about me.
I’m a journalist by training, drawn to stories that invite people to reflect on their relationship with the extraordinary waters of the Great Lakes.
Over the past five years, I’ve worked at three newspapers across the Midwest, including the Traverse City Record-Eagle, telling community-centered stories rooted in place. I’m an alum of Ball State University, where I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and French, and in 2024 I completed a Master’s degree in Marketing from Southern New Hampshire University.
From 2017 to 2019, I served in the U.S. Peace Corps in Zambia as a community health volunteer, teaching HIV and malaria prevention and working alongside international NGOs to improve water quality and sanitation in the village I called home.
Today, I’m pursuing a Master of Public Health at the University of Alabama, continuing to explore the intersection of storytelling, public health, and environmental stewardship. When I’m not working, you’ll likely find me and my wife playing guitar on our deck or performing with my improv troupe.
