Good Riot Threads — A Program for the Community

The following T-Shirts are apart of a GiveBack program I started in 2024 called Good Riot Threads. The ‘Compost the Rich’ Yellow Ringer Tees donated nearly $750 to our community.

In 2024, we raised money for SEEDS Ecology and Education Centers, a Traverse City based nonprofit dedicated to get NoMI kids excited about science and nature, Carter’s Compost, a growing composting service to get organic materials out of Michigan landfills. In 2025 proceeds went to the The Women’s Resource Center, a local organization who seeks to protect, shelter, and empower people impacted by domestic and sexual violence.

This time, we’re doing it for Up North Pride, an LGBT Center in NoMi that strives to foster inclusive spaces by providing education and resources, inspiring activism and advocacy through programing and events.

A friend of mine and I realized that the names of the WNBA teams double as titles for lesbian romance novels written in the 1800s. It is without a doubt that the Indianapolis Fever got it’s name from the lesbians that found love in those Indiana cornfields while on the Oregon Trail.

All proceeds from the Indianapolis Fever Tees will go to Up North Pride.
